That being said, it’s not so easy to just quit the job, especially if it’s providing you with stability + security, even if it’s wrecking havoc on your self-esteem.

I think it’s crucial to at least step back and regroup, and try to find ways to mitigate harmful patterns..

I have a lot of respect for workers who have experimented with Onlyfans or online work during this pandemic, only to realise that having to provide endless pics and videos is not for them. It's an entirely different job, and definitely can indue feelings of dysphoria

I'm struggling with that a bit right now. I'm a confident person, but I know that looking at pics + videos all day of myself and others is harmful. It's easy to compare oneself to others, or to an impossible standard, and no amount of money is worth a negative self-image!

That being said, sex-work (at least in person work) has also helped IMPROVE my self-image, by demonstrating that beauty is entirely subjective, AND that beauty is actually not the most important part of this job! Compassion, connection, listening etc are equally as important

I also have beautiful connections with people where physical attractiveness is not my primary draw. There's so much about sexwork that isn't about looks and that's what makes it so awesome, I really believe this...

HOWEVER. There is an immense pressure in this industry to be hot, sexy, desirable etc. This can be very emotionally taxing, and detrimental to one's mental health. I think it's important to know when to step back. I'm in the process of figuring that out. Stay tuned
