I'm sure that people on the right would say it's "superficial" and "aesthetic" to care about the delusional rantings of a leftwing POTUS who was claiming he won an election that he almost certainly lost without forwarding any evidence.
Seriously, if a LW POTUS did this, I guarantee a large number of RW pundits would talk about arming up to protect America from a wannabe tyrant. Let the process play out, sure, but also call out a POTUS who tweets "I won the election!" without a shred of evidence.
The best and worst thing about where we are is that so many people just think the POTUS is a petulant child that they simply ignore him. Thus, they dismiss his ravings because they say "It's all for show." Maybe. But I ask for consistency. Would you call it out on the left?
And, if you would, then you should also call it out on the right. If we don't defend principles that transcend tribe, then we all just become postmodern tribal warriors for whom the truth and objective principles are irrelevant so long as our side wins. That sounds awful to me.
