Very happy and #proudsupervisor to say that @a_gilmullina's first paper is online OA in @BasinResearch!

Albina shows how the enormous Greater Barents Sea Basin was infilled by up to 3 km of sediment throughout the Triassic [thread, 1/6]...
Here, she uses crazy amounts of data: More than 3000 2D seismic lines, 250 wells and integrated stratigraphic and palynological data... 2/6
...to create a unified stratigraphic framework for the entire Triassic Greater Barents Sea Basin (before and after below). 3/6
This work has several important implications for sediment transport and geological evolution in the Arctic. The sediments were sourced from a continental-scale catchment in the East, including the Urals and West Siberia, transported through an enormous river-to-delta system.. 4/6
more than 1500 km long, and large amounts of sediment spilled over from the Barents Sea into basins to the N and W, such as the Sverdrup Basin and the Lomonosov Ridge. 5/6
Stay tuned for much more integrated source-to-sink-work from this amazing, data-rich basin, including sediment volumes, detrital zircons, petrology, stratigraphic revision and diagenesis from @a_gilmullina, @hsirevaag, Beyene Haile and Lina Line. 6/6
