Business leaders raised the issue in the weekly Economic Impact Group meeting, chaired by Mayor Andy Street...it relates to the fact that after #Brexit carmakers that use non-EU parts will face tariffs EVEN IF we get a 'zero tariff' deal.../2

This is because a car needs to be roughly 55% UK-made to qualify for 'zero tariff' access....the UK asked if it could include, say Japanese car parts when counting towards the 55% but the EU has said 'no'. @DavidGHFrost has already written to car makers to admit as much/3
