I try my best to be a positive teacher. I try my best to stay mindful of the fact that NHS face inconceivable difficulties every day. I try my best to walk into school everyday with determination and conviction that what I’m doing is worth the risks in such a volatile time.
BUT,
Something has to give.
Class numbers are dwindling, staff are falling ill and as a teacher, I increasingly feel disposable in the eyes of the government.
Something has to give.

I’m not saying there’s a magical solution or that schools should close. I’m just tired of being scared every day. I guess we all are, right?
Teacher Twitter is usually the place where you see relentless positivity and enthusiasm. I’m usually trying to be that guy. But in reality, it’s getting harder to pop on a mask and pretend that I feel safe.
I couldn’t have more supportive colleagues/management. I’m lucky. I can’t imagine what it would be like to work in a school without that just now.
Stay safe, fellow teachers.
