"You have to understand that nothing has replaced a coal or steel job like a natural gas job," @ConorLambPA says. "Don’t tell us about green energy jobs that are abstract; they’re just not here.”

To start, @ConorLambPA, congrats on your recent victory. We hope we're going to be on the same team here. But let's seek common ground with the facts. To start: as of 2019, clean-energy jobs outnumbered fossil-fuel jobs by a ratio of 3:1. https://www.forbes.com/sites/energyinnovation/2019/04/22/renewable-energy-job-boom-creating-economic-opportunity-as-coal-industry-slumps/?sh=8284e5336654
Depending on how you count it, the ratio is 10:1. https://www.newscientist.com/article/2219927-us-green-economy-has-10-times-more-jobs-than-the-fossil-fuel-industry/
Now clearly we have lots of spun figures in this country, which we should all ignore. And, if you choose to be skeptical of @newscientist or @Forbes (not exactly progressive sources):
FOSSIL FUELS: 1,000,000
RENEWABLES: 850,000 https://www.cbsnews.com/news/renewable-energy-jobs-replacing-fossil-fuel-jobs-oil-wind/
FOSSIL FUELS: 1,000,000
RENEWABLES: 850,000 https://www.cbsnews.com/news/renewable-energy-jobs-replacing-fossil-fuel-jobs-oil-wind/
As of 2019, fossil fuel accounted for 80% of energy use. So it's clear that replacing fossil fuels with renewables is, if nothing else, a massive opportunity to create jobs. Steady ones not subject to the boom/bust issues CBS wrote about there.
So if you care about jobs you don't need us to explain why @JoeBiden's infrastructure plan borrows so heavily from the #GreenNewDeal: renewables=jobs.
You should stop saying the opposite, because it's BS.
