Do not sleep on oats y'all. Oats are one of the healthiest foods on the planet. They are a complex carb, they are mucilaginous which supports mucus membranes (like the gut lining!), they contain molybdenum which FEEDS/heals/stengthens nervous tissue, and they are so versatile.
Along with mucilage, oats are cooling in nature. A great food for those who experience a lot of heartburn. Starting your day with oats will stabilise your blood sugar, which will regulate hormone production and support your circadian rhythm for healthy sleep!
Oats are an easy vehicle for other goodies as well - nuts, seeds, fruit, and herbs like cinnamon go great with oats. Overnight oats is one of the easiest, healthiest, and tastiest breakfasts you could have. You can make them in so many flavors. Carrot cake overnight oats SLAPS
Back to the nervous tissue component - eating oats for breakfast is an easy step to take to help manage anxiety. All parts of the oat plant (oatseed, oatstraw, oat tops) act as anti-anxiety support. They're seriously such an important food HMU for overnight oats recipes!
Last note - oats are highly sustainable as a crop, require little processing, are widely available, and are inexpensive. Healthy planet, healthy body!!!!
