When the presidential election was called, I was en route to Zapata: The now-famous Texas border county that voted for Trump, despite not having a local Republican Party.

So how did this blue county turn red? 1/
2/ Local voters & leaders say: Yes, it had to do with Biden's comments on transitioning from fossil fuels.

But other important factors:
- Existing mixed-ticket voters
- An appreciation of guns, & law enforcement
- Christian or catholic values
- *A lack of jobs & change*
4/ Did Dems isolate more conservative voters in their quest to turn TX blue?

Well, it should be noted Bernie Sanders won most of these border counties in the primary.

And a liberal Zapata voter told me she heard friends give up on voting bc. of Biden.
