Venus: a Planet of Survival
When we think of Venus we most often think of love, beauty, and luxury. We think of Aphrodite and the birth of Venus

The lesser benefic is associated with corporeal pleasures in a way that's almost superfluous.

What utility does "pretty" have when talking about Life?
The reason we focus on these more enjoyable aspects of Venus are because we don't have to worry about the serious stuff that much anymore

So the question is, what relates to Venus and is critical to our survival?
Venus determines what is safe

What's the number one way we evaluate danger? Appearance!

It's easy to forget in modern society that nature is incredibly dangerous and finding food is hard

Venus helps us discern what's edible. Which one you eating?
The metal associated with Venus is Copper

Why Copper? Because Copper has known antimicrobial properties that were used during ancient times

You couldn't just keep water. It would go bad because of growth and turn gross

Copper vessels helped negate that
We're quick to associate Venus with scented candles but not smelling milk to see if it's bad

We're quick to associate Venus with decadent tastes but not tasting something to see if it's edible

The perception of Taurus combines with the judgment of Libra
Venus also helps us evaluate danger

Telling the difference between things that are cute and ugly is a survival function
Our brains extended this to other humans making us more likely to trust people who are attractive and be more wary of those who are not

Attraction itself is largely linked to health signifiers and many of our beauty routines are just hygiene 2.0
So, while appearance isn't everything it's important to remember that it IS a lot

While we don't have to worry about food and predators as much now we do have to worry about threats that aren't visible
Who do you trust when you know it has nothing to do with appearance?

You trust those you've bonded with

You trust the people you interact with

Think of it like mentally taste/smell testing food you can't judge by sight
As we experience people we begin to classify them in the same way we do food

Are you gonna invite some salty, bitter person to your party? No. Experience dictates that you don't enjoy that person's flavor

They don't nourish you so you don't "consume" them
