One of the dumber things about this student loan forgiveness talk is that no one talks about fixing the reason there's so much student loan debt. https://twitter.com/WinterForMT/status/1325171295017861124
College is overly expensive. So what's the plan here, just keep forgiving student debt in perpetuity, allowing universities to continually increase tuitions since they know the students aren't paying out of pocket anyway? Talk about moral hazard.
That's one of the problems with today's liberalism, they never seek to fix the inception of any problem, just the symptoms of said problem. That doesn't make any sense.
Btw, I'd support some type of loan forgiveness if and only if it corrected the underlying issue as to why there's so much loan debt. Though I'd make loan debt forgiveness of poorer people the priority, not folks who make a bunch of money and just want the loans off their back.
