Not putting a lot of stock in the weekend report of Crennel potentially staying on as HC for Houston.

2021 will need to be a season of cleansing the roster for 2022. A year of inexpensive one year vet contracts + giant sized undrafted class.
A new GM and HC would need at least one year to overturn this roster appropriately and clear up the salary cap.

Using vets to bridge gaps in specific position groups.

Large (20+) undrafted class will give the team a low percentage shot at finding a keeper or two.
2021 will determine the roster foundation for 2022 and beyond.

Start 2022 with the full slate of draft capital + a revamped salary cap should put the team in a good position for a quick turnaround in 2022.
The lack of draft capital and cap dollars for 2021 as a potential barrier for finding quality candidates is being over played.

Candidates will see the potential for 2022 and beyond.
Regardless of the organization perception, the team does many things the right way:
1. Patience with new staff and front office.
2. Org spends a lot of money on the facility and staff.

I personally believe those two factors way more heavily then 2021 draft capital and cap.
And finally the third reason for the Houston job to draw a lot of interest is Deshaun Watson. 25 years old, entering the prime of his career, and under contract.
