#BREAKING: The 2019 FBI Hate Crime Data released today show deadly, violent trend in #hatecrime continues for 4th consecutive year.

Deadliest anti-Latino hate crime in American history documented as "anti-other race/ethnicity/ancestry" in data.

"In the 2019 data, the deadliest hate crime attack on Latinos in American history, the August 2019 El Paso, Texas shooting, was categorized as “anti-other race/ethnicity/ancestry” despite the well documented anti-Hispanic bias."
Reported hate crimes in 2019 increased. Including:

A 16% increase in anti-Arab hate crimes
A 14% Increase in anti-Jewish hate crimes
A 24% increase in anti-bisexual hate crimes
A 108% increase in anti-female hate crimes,
An 81% increase in anti-gender non conforming hate crimes
Reported Hate Crime Incidents from 1996 to 2019. 2019 saw a slight (3%) increase over 2018.

You can see the very clear spike caused by the surge in hate crimes after the terrorist attacks on 9/11.
This graph shows total violent hate crime offenses from 1992-2019.

Here we used the FBI classification of violent offenses which includes: murder/non-negligent manslaughter, rape, aggravated assault, and robbery.
2019 was the 6th consecutive year of increased violent offenses. This is longest running stretch of increased violent offenses since the data was collected. As a reminder: these are offenses that are reported to law enforcement, then reported up to the FBI.
