We must reject all hateful language when we see it. The reality is that words can indeed cause all types of violence, including wars and genocide. Kindness and nuance are important to preventing atrocities, and not just in #Ethiopia. 2/3
Vilifying an entire identify is especially dangerous. It’s inappropriate to call Amharas “neftegna” and it’s inappropriate to call Oromos “galla.” The minute we begin to dehumanize each other is the minute violence and hate have won. #Ethiopia 3/3
