Also, people shouldn't have to live in roach infested living spaces to afford an education.
I had college for free under the GI Bill. I still think we should radically reform education costs and forgive student loan debt.

It is not the fault of working class Americans that for decades we allowed higher education to be hijacked by a bunch of profiteering ghouls.
How much talent and productivity is this country sacrificing because its best and brightest talent either:
-can't afford school
-can't thrive while there due to costs
-is saddled with too much debt after graduating

Let's pretend that everyone should be "fiscally responsible."
Most of my fiscally responsible peers couldn't take an internship. They were too busy working minimum wage jobs for 40-60 hours a week to make ends meet.

The point of all this isn't to cancel student debt...and then do nothing (as so many of you seem to think).
It is a starting point so that 45 million Americans can breath again.
