If debt forgiveness is bad politics because of resentment I think that’s worth considering even though the resentment wouldn’t be justified. But I think the idea that the forgiveness would be super regressive isn’t that justified. This is 2013 but:
About half of Americans now do some post high school education. A lot of people have student loans. Also to the extent we worry about the politics, currying favor with a massive Twitter set of journalists by giving them money seems like good politics.
