This so-called Citizens' committee is formed as per the news article at the invitation of Constitutional Conduct Group. You might think this CCG is some elected or appointed oversight group which in turn has formed this committee (as this @ndtv piece would make you believe). https://twitter.com/ndtv/status/1328328991653019649
As a little digging into this group 'Constitutional Conduct Group' goes which has taken it upon itself appointment of committees to look into serious matters like #DelhiRiots tells us this is constituted out of a group of retired Civil Servants. @nirwamehta @UnSubtleDesi
There is a stocktaking MoM of their meeting on the website. In that Sundar Burra, ex-IAS refers to the key matters taken up by this society as murder of a Judge (SC decided it was not a murder), irregularity in 2019 election (junked by both SC and EC), but who cares.
This is their outreach plan. Looking forward for more student unrest and Islamic Agendas in the Universities @UnSubtleDesi
And then this- CCG is coming together with FCRDF. FCRDF signed letter supporting Harsh Mander. Harsh Mander is charged in Delhi Riots. CCG has formed a committee for 'independent investigations' in #DelhiRiots @UnSubtleDesi
