Thanks @VylaRollins for the great convo - SO relevant for today's challenge of managing #remotework
thread below
TL;DR: 1) identify behaviour you wish to change/engage 2) identify the barriers - what's blocking people? 3) apply EAST framework @B_I_Tweets to nudge for good! https://twitter.com/VylaRollins/status/1328281802612596737

1/ define the day-to-day behaviours you want to encourage among employees that will help meet your company's long-term goals. Break the strategy into its daily components: what does it actually look like in terms of time spent at work?

2/ take the employee perspective: what is helping them to act in line with behaviours you wish to encourage on a day-to-day basis? What is hindering them - name the specific barriers so you can help tackle them head-on

3/ apply the EAST framework (shoutout to @B_I_Tweets) to nudge behavioural change: think of ways to make the behaviour you wish to see Easy - Attractive - Social - Timely! https://www.bi.team/publications/east-four-simple-ways-to-apply-behavioural-insights/
4/ E is fo EASY
: automatically enrolling employees into pension plans dramatically increases the number of savers. This is because automatic enrolment makes saving Easy

5/ A is for ATTRACTIVE
: putting healthy food at eye level or at point of sale makes them more Attractive than alternatives - and this promotes healthy food choices

6/ S is for SOCIAL
: harness the power of networks and social proof; for example, to encourage employees to donate to a cause, share that others in their network have donated already to encourage them to donate as well

7/ T is for TIMELY
: in the insurance, expense, and tax contexts: signing first before reporting sensitive information may bring morality into focus right before reporting—and subsequently encourages honesty as a consequence

8/ Next time you wish to change any behaviour - your own or your team members: think EAST
- what nudges can you introduce to make this behaviour Easy, Attractive, Social, or Timely? /end
