I think we should stop and think about how momentous it is that we have two vaccines that work for a never before-seen virus and disease in under a year.

And do not be taken in by anyone who says RNA vaccines integrate into your DNA (fabrications in some tweets gone viral).
There's a reason that some vaccines are ahead of others. It's because they are rationally designed. All you need are a computer and some biohacking skills.

This is the way of the future because we don't have to "grow" the actual virus anymore and inject viral parts into people
These vaccines are nothing more than information that is sent into the body. The body then makes the viral spike protein which the immune system uses as target practice.

When the actual virus enters the body, it's recognized and defeated because the body is ready for it.
One of the few truly monumental positives in an abysmal year. This will come in handy in our fight against other infectious diseases too. https://twitter.com/parags/status/1328320731797741570?s=20
Daniel Griffin has the best analogy for how RNA vaccines work.

They are like IKEA but they don't give you any actual parts. They give you only the blueprint. You take the blueprint and use what you already have to make the furniture at home.
