… has never been achieved (rightly or wrongly), then can we not also assume that the pursuance of a genuine tech advantage will not happen fast enough? In which case we must surely take care about how quickly we axe ‘legacy’ equipment or we’ll end up with neither./2
Maybe ‘legacy’ should be rebadged ‘core’ so that transformers (and disruptors) become less willing to horse-trade it for tech. (Interested in what the departure of Cummings will do to the IR direction of travel in this regard). /3
Mod should fight for both or we’ll lose entire regiments next. A Mod Spokesperson definitely did not say, “Shiny baubles are great (and financially compelling) but one still needs a tree to hang them on.” /F
