@TEWV why do inpatient staff refuse contraception? Whether pt is sexually actively or not is irrelevant it’s important birth control is taken daily otherwise it disrupts hormones & menstrual cycle & puts women at risk of pregnancy at IP discharge @moody1968 @Ruthhilltewv1

@TEWV @moody1968 @Ruthhilltewv1 it’s unacceptable for male staff to state that contraception “isn’t needed during IP admission as its only used to prevent a woman doing something you won’t be doing” it’s misogynistic and down right unprofessional

@TEWV @Ruthhilltewv1 @moody1968 when female peers report this type of mistreatment from male staff something needs to be done to ensure female IP’s are protected from such unprofessional behaviour. No woman should ever have to justify requesting to continue contraceptive meds
