Thread for anyone looking to build a DIY computer for trading:
First of all decide how much your budget is and how many screens you plan to run. This will greatly affect your component choice.

CPU: Personally biased towards AMD CPUs atm since they are absolutely crushing intel on many fronts.
Ideally you'd want to look for something w/the highest single thread speeds. Look over benchmarking websites to get a feel, but I'll give my recommendations below

Balling: Ryzen 5900x/5950x (w/AIO cooler)
Ideal: Ryzen 5600x (w/Air or AIO cooler)
Budget: Ryzen 3600/3600x/3600xt (w/Air or AIO Cooler)
All the above are pretty much optimized already, plug and play, no OC needed.

Ram: This is pretty important. 16gb min IMO for traders and 32gb optimal. Which gives you enough to open many tabs on different exchanges.
Balling: 3800mhz
Ideal: 3600mhz
Budget: 3200mhz
3200mhz minimum for optimal performance w/Zen 2+ architecture. OC possible w/Dram Calc

Motherboard: Not super important but you'd want to choose a reliable one.
Optimal: X570 (MSI Tomahawk or Asus x570-e)
Budget: B450 (only w/Zen 2+, wont work w/Zen 3)
B550 not worth imo at current prices.

Graphics: Generally not that important for just casual trading and tabs. No point going for TOTL unless you game with it or require like 6 screens. Get something reliable.
Balling: Nvidia 3080
Ideal: Nvidia 2070s
Budget: Nvidia 2060 or a 2nd hand Nvidia 1080ti

Storage: Nothing much to say here, get SSDs. Prices have dropped significantly from like 2-4 years ago.
M.2 SSDs are the best followed by SSDs and then HDD.
I would ignore HDDs unless you are on a tight budget/require 10TB+
Even so i would recommend installing OS on SSD.

PSU: Depends on graphic card power draw. Use online calculator then add maybe 100w.
Would wholeheartedly recommend Seasonic brand for reliability

Screens: Not the most important, 60hz would suffice but 144hz is butter smooth so if you have budget go for it. I find 24-27' a sweet spot. Curved or not is your choice.
Ideal: 144hz screens for butter smooth experience
Budget: Any 60hz screen. Even your junk one would work
