The rush to permit developers build turbines in unsuitable places regardless of the law has cost some local people their homes and way of life.

Bad planning always comes at a high cost for someone.
Incredibly, planning applications are still being assessed under outdated ‘Guidelines’ everyone - including the Department responsible - admits are unfit for purpose.

Damage to people and the environment continues to mount.

It is a running sore.

The ads pay well and look nice.
Successive govts have been defending the indefensible for 15+ yrs now, at huge public expense.

Fresh thinking please.
Current thinking is stale - and getting staler as the Govt is planning to *restrict* court oversight of planning.

They want to make it *harder* for people to question bad planning decisions in Court.

Because ‘delay’ upsets developers.

Guess what? Bord Pleanála was *deliberately ignoring* new scientific data and research on noise impacts that was at odds with the old Guidelines. For years it gave permission by listening to one side only.

Until a case finally got through to the Supreme Court.
