1/n #SadarPranam to Ishvara within you @D_Roopa_IPS ji.

You have overdone by comparing Sati Pratha with Crackers.

I explain same in this thread. You may respond should you have substance.

Though as a Hindu Society we won’t create any issue for your opinion but it’s WRONG https://twitter.com/d_roopa_ips/status/1327867194600919041
2/n Firstly you must understand, that irrespective if sane is mentioned in our Scriptures or not neither one festival specific ban is going to help environment nor it will be accepted. Statistics state that more crackers are bursted during the “New Year Eve”.
3/n As far as environment is concerned, beef is major cause of increase in Global Warming. @D_Roopa_IPS , if you check numbers, you will be surprised to know that this on festival cracker ban is like plucking a piece of grain of rice when you have to “tons”.
4/n Then being a responsible officer, @D_Roopa_IPS shouldn’t you all come against “beef” openly?

If fire crackers can be banned on Deepawali, why killings not be banned on Bakrid?

Though even Islamic Scripture not speak of it? Hope you know story of Abraham & Ismail.
5/n Coming to larger point @D_Roopa_IPS , if crackers are part of our Civilisation or not. Read on.

Gunpowder is major component of fireworks which comprises of Saltpetre,Sulfur & Charcoal. Sulfur & Charcoal act as fuel to increase the time of combustion.
6/n And Saltpetre gives the characteristic purple flame for which Fireworks are used for military & celebratory purposes as well.

@D_Roopa_IPS Historians around the world agree that the wisdom of gunpowder existed in ancient India.
7/n Dr. Gustav Oppert has done extensive research & is considered an authority on the subject.

According to Dr. Sukraniti goes older than any Chinese description of Gunpowder. @D_Roopa_IPS maybe you may like to read full book here https://books.google.co.in/books?id=BAJWtdJwAYYC&pg=PA353&hl=en#v=onepage&q&f=true
8/n Here look at writing of Brenda J. Buchanan in his book “Gunpowder, Explosives and the State: A Technological History”.

He further gives sources to support claims of Dr. Gustav.
9/n Arthashastra too talks of Saltpetre as “Agnichurna“, & it’s usages. Chinese texts dating back to 7th century too acknowledge that Indians were aware of Saltpetre and its usage for producing purple flames implying that it might be used for celebrations too apart from military.
