#Microsoft365 includes a range of connectors that can support #recordsmanagement. Setting the scene first - a number of EDRM systems have connectors that ingest content from #M365 to that system (e.g., copies of #MSTeams chats), but leave the original where it was created. 1/n
#M365, on the other hand, offers three main connectors types: archive, Graph/search, and API. The archive connectors allows organisations to import and archive data from 3rd party systems like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and many more. 2/n https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/compliance/archiving-third-party-data?view=o365-worldwide
Almost all the 3rd party archived this way, via the Compliance portal / Data connectors section, is stored in Exchange Online mailboxes, where it can then be subject to records retention policies. 3/n
The second type of connector is the #Graph search connector. This connector enables organisations to point their Microsoft search at a range of internal and external content and storage services including a number of document management systems. 4/n https://docs.microsoft.com/en-US/microsoftsearch/connectors-overview
The Graph search connectors can search both internal and external systems, including Alfresco, Open Text Documentum, Facebook Workplace, iManage, Lotus Notes and many more. The indexing data is stored in Azure and accessed via 'work' Bing searches. 5/n. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftsearch/connectors-gallery
