My son, the paramedic, was resuscitating a dead nine year old girl...multiple times...while police shut down each intersection as they raced to the trauma center. It’s not easy doing airway, IV, drug push and more in the back of an ambulance. She made it. TY police escort. ❤️ https://twitter.com/behindblueline/status/1327909194138193922
A little more on this story. Call came in as a “fainting.” Girl took her last breath as my son and his partner entered the house. Mom was a nurse. Girl had tonsil surgery 48 hrs earlier. My son intubated her on the spot and they left the house in three minutes.
RCMP used four cruisers to fan out ahead of the ambulance on a major highway heading into the city. Girl arrested multiple times. Each time, my son brought her back with IV, drugs, defibrillator. One time, she opened her eyes. In the city, police cleared each intersection of cars
Handed her off alive to the Children’s hospital. A year later, saw her featured in a news story. Her mom thanked the doctors and hospital staff. She will never know that her daughter lived because of my son and that’s okay. Lesson: Pull over. It might be your kid in the ambulance
