Last week I coded a young mother of a 3 mo old. She had Covid and had a massive PE.
I've had pts/family refuse a hug, but I've never once regretted offering one.
As I gestured to the husband with open arms, he looked at me with tears in his eyes and said "I have Covid, too."

As I gestured to the husband with open arms, he looked at me with tears in his eyes and said "I have Covid, too."
I was wearing PPE and I said "I don't care."
He collapsed in my arms, broken. I held him crying for at least 3 full minutes.

All I could think about then and since is how this young man, experiencing unquestionably the worst moment in his life, had the compassion to think of ME.
These are the people we care for. I needed that reminder. I needed it to feel recharged and keep up this fight. #MedTwitter
