in montana, dems lost rural areas big. i’m just a former field organizer but here’s my two cents on policies that people care about especially in rural montana: https://twitter.com/bozemandsa/status/1328167993189167104
- universal broadband (duh) internet is a necessity at this point why should verizon decide who gets it

- postal banking: many rural voters have access to either 1 or 0 banks in their zip code. let them have a bank at the post office with competitive rates!
- breaking up big ag: help small farmers compete, pass right-to-repair, re-establish labels with country-of-origin so consumers know if their beef comes from the US or another country like canada or mexico
- general anti-corruption, holding wall street and giant corporations accountable (literally every hates wall street)

- also making big companies like amazon and fedex pay their taxes
- tuition free college/debt forgiveness/funding for apprenticeships: more options for affordable education means that young people don’t have to go to big cities with high-paying jobs just to pay down student loans
just my thoughts! very open to feedback from others. maybe Dems can win in montana when trump isn’t on the ballot, but we might as well take some time to reflect and talk about what went wrong as well!
