Lately, I have been perplexed that so many Millennials & Gen-Zers think highly of Socialism. They believe it will benefit them. Then I realized it’s because they don’t remember it, weren’t taught about it, & frankly, they are, in general, a different breed. I’ll explain.

I was raised by Boomers whose parents were those who faced WW II & The Great Depression. Those times instilled things in them that they passed on to their children. One thing was work ethic. They were truly grateful to have work & to be able to provide for their families.

They felt honored to sweat & toil in order to bring home bread. It was rewarding & masculine. Women ran after their children all day & they still cleaned the home & had a hot meal for their husband when he returned home each evening. It was feminine.

The Bible has a lot to say about working hard and using the God-given skills & abilities to prepare & provide for yourself and your family.
Accepting government handouts, unless a situation was dire, was looked down on. Desiring a Welfare state unheard of, even humiliating.

I’m Gen-X. The thing I remember most about my father growing up was how hard the man worked for us. He worked his way out of the poverty he grew up in. No one handed him anything. EVER. He displayed his love for us in this way.
We were not wealthy, but we didn’t go without.

In turn, he taught us to work hard. I’m so grateful he did!
I was very young, but I also recall hearing about Communism & seeing the results of it on TV. The word Communism always carried a very negative connotation. Communists were BAD.

The upcoming generations have no recollection of it. I was SHOCKED to to recently hear that many of them aren’t just tolerant of Communism, they actually think of it POSITIVELY.
To me, that’s the equivalent of thinking highly of hate or murder! “No one wants to be a commie!”

Today, many within the younger generation (of course there are exceptions), do not want to work hard. They do not see the joy in it. They often want to work as little as possible for as much as possible.
They do not think government control or handouts are negative.

This is why we are where we are. Our youth looks forward to the gov dishing out what they believe is free money to them. They haven’t paid taxes or paid taxes long enough to feel the burden that will inevitably come from it. The burden that will likely be the ruin of many.
9/
9/
They don’t realize that big government is awful. The more the government controls, the worse it is for the people. They haven’t taken the time to look into the welfare state areas within the USA. The crippling poverty that it often causes & endlessly entangles people in.
10/
10/
They do not understand what freedom cost. They do not value it. They hurry to the polls to vote in the ones that promise them everything in exchange for their autonomy.
Men bled on fields for our freedom.
The youth today are trading their freedom in for $1200 checks.

The cost of the loss of that freedom for the Christian today, is heavy.
The Bible talks about how the world will offer us many things that will be tempting. We have been repeatedly warned.

We want the government to keep us safe from viruses. We want the gov to care for us when we lose our jobs, homes, businesses, livelihoods... The government is more than happy to oblige. It’s simple: just be willing to let go of those things which identify us as Christians.
13/
13/
We voted for the very ones who want to murder our babies, shut down our churches, & not only legalize, but promote every filthy sin imaginable. Even to our youngest children.
WE SOLD OUT. For $1200 and a mask.

What will become of us when the world’s persecution really sets in? We Americans haven’t seen anything yet. Riots are nothing. We want peace so badly, we just raise our hands & give in because we have forgotten that we have a Father in Heaven who is sovereign.
15/

Each of us are immortal until our Father calls us home. He has called us to obey His Word & to be light & salt and in return, He has promised to provide for us & protect us & never let us go.
16/
16/
We are called to trust God, work hard, and try to live quiet & peaceable lives.
The government isn’t our provider or our protector. It isn’t even our friend.
We have got to teach our children this.

...aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you, so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one.
