I've been seeing a lot of people getting discouraged about querying lately and I want to make a tweet about how my querying process was HARD and it was AWFUL. I was not a miracle case. I got so many full rejections I lost count. I still feel embarrassed whenever I think about it.
I absolutely love seeing all the cases of people getting agents quickly but when I was in the thick of it, seeing all those posts was so difficult and I even stopped looking at my TL for months at a time.
I kind of hate how everyone has a predisposition to only talk about the good things on social media or to make their story seem as great as possible. Even I'm hesitant to write my how I got my agent post because of what I went through because it didn't happen quickly or easily
I am 100% for celebrating your success and talking about the good things that happened and I LOVE seeing those posts and celebrating along with you, I just wish people talked more about the bad parts too because people who are in the thick of it NEED those posts.
Idk where I'm going with this but querying for me was really hard. I got a lot of rejections. It took a very long time. There were other things that happened on top of that that made it really, really hard. The last few months I was querying were some of the worst of my life.
And sometimes seeing those posts and seeing people talk about struggles can help a lot too! And I wish people did it more. That's all

I'm scared of even making this thread because I feel like people are going to think I'm telling them not to post about their querying success. PLEASE DO. Those posts are needed as well and you DESERVE to celebrate your success. I just wish there was a balance of both. That's all!
