I've now entered Canada
and their logistics on handling COVID are impressive.
A few observations:
1/ The border is closed, and you need special permission to enter the country. We applied for special travel authorization months ago. I got permission to enter last week.

2/ Before entering you have to agree to do a mandatory 14 quarantine. You register via the "ArriveCAN" app on your phone where you pre-arrival register your quarantine address. This address was validated at the border.
3/ Canada are pretty strict with their Quarantine Act, and fines are up to $1,000,000 CAD and imprisonment of up to 3 years.
4/ They are taking contact tracking seriously and have a COVID Alert tracking app that's using the Google-Apple tracking framework. Pretty neat.
5/ Looking at the streets in Vancouver, everything seems to be back to normal. Restaurants and gyms are open. Streets are busy.
After being in semi-lock down since February in Seattle, it's surreal to see city life and non-plywood storefronts

6/ For the next 13 days I'll be in quarantine.
I really wish America took COVID this seriously.
