Cities are built around resources and usually that resource is water. In addition to being useful, water is how goods flowed.

Digital cities are no different.

For every community I meet, I love looking for the stream. What is the flowing resource that's the raison d'etre?

Sometimes the answer is clear: goods and estate sold by the gods.

Sometimes you see the craft, like modeling communities trading avatar comissions.

Sometimes it's more ephemeral, like blood and sweat curating a space with a mission.

But every community has its water.

If communities are cities, the metaverse already exists.

We just need to look over the fence at our amazing neighbors, even though the walls might seem high.

Every day I hear about a cool new metaverse project.

Often it's built with sticks and stones because we can't see the hardware store across the river.

Maybe we can build some rafts.

I think the digital cities are already here. They're already on Discord. We just haven't invented the boat.
