tbh Jensen actually saying he “doesn’t want to put Dean in a box”, that he wants us to interpret Dean however we see it, blows. my. freaking. mind.

JENSEN ACKLES, Mr. “Dean is 10,000% straight” just gave his official approval to interpret Dean as gay or bi. Let that sink in

He knew full well exactly what we were asking & he said, go ahead. (We didn’t actually need his approval imho -but still for me it feels amazing)

I never thought we’d get a full Cas/Dean reunion; rather, I was very, very afraid 20 would go full no-homo/“it’s unrequited” for Dean

Instead Jensen is saying: Dean was overwhelmed/couldn’t process what Cas was saying (this is the very best case, most-pro-Destiel interpretation of Dean’s reaction), + JA “not gonna put Dean in a box”, ok to interpret Dean however you see it.

For me this is FREEDOM

Coming at this from a perspective of someone older. You know how many gay or bi characters there were on tv when I was growing up? 0. Coming-out scenes? 0. Queer ships going canon? 0. Queer leads? 0. Queer side characters? 0. Zero. Zip. Nada.

Nothing. For 43 YEARS IN FANDOM

Many of the network execs, Singer & other TPTB *are. my. age.* And they are very, very, very risk-averse.

All year I’ve been watching fans hoping for a destiel endgame & was quietly grieving for them in advance, 100% certain that it would never remotely happen in any form

And now OMFG it has actually happened

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cas confirmed as in love + Dean left as “possible” + approval from ALL cast, writers, director = me totally blown away.

I see & get those who feel let down by it not being even more

But I am over the MOON
