One thing I forgot to mention regarding "How can we make the joy of being in community together possible for people who have multiple marginalized identities?"

We need more conversations about things like accountability & transformative justice & intracommunity harm.
Because our communities hurt each other. We are hurting each other, inside disabled communities, inside LGBTQ2IA+ communities, between communities. And we don’t know how to deal with that. How to genuinely talk to each other, learn from each other, heal from intracommunity harm.
So maybe starting from basics, like how do we say sorry to each other. I'm still learning how to make apologies and be accountable to my mistakes--and it's a skill to learn how to do it in a way that centres the person I've harmed while not losing my own humanity.
Especially as cases of intra-community violence where it's complex, where people hurt each other, where the whole community contributes to conditions that allow for harm... there's no clear "bad guy".
Harm is going to happen; it happens constantly. I’ve hurt others; others have hurt me. It's a complex cycle, especially when you through in trauma, re-traumatization, trauma responses, communication differences, access needs conflicts...
I'm still trying to figure out how to make spaces where everyone struggles together to practice accountability AND compassion. But it’s in healing together from harm that I think in part we can create spaces where we can find resilience and joy.
