The number of people who've told me that they sent relatives COVID articles from, like The Atlantic and WaPo and are surprised that it hasn't changed their minds! Listen, I cherish those articles, I devour them, but they are not effective persuasion for the COVID stubborn
The most effective persuasion for an individualist is someone they know getting sick. Barring that, the most effective thing is you, a person they like/love/admire/cherish, making the case. This sucks for any number of reasons, and it shouldn't be this way, but here we are
As many people have noted: a v good way to start the conversation is to talk about what you share, which is a desire to be together. Validate that, and move from there.
