Reasons for King fans to be optimistic for the 20/21 season:
1. Fox gets paid and only gets better. Unlike players that immediately suck after getting paid (aka D. Dedmond), Fox will continue to improve. Next season look for him to be in the All Star level conversation.
2. ...
2. Bagley will be playing for a big contract. If Bagley wants to get paid big, this has to be his season to shine. He has to put all of the injury talk behind him. Look for Bagley to average 17 to 20 pts with 7 to 10 rb per game.

3. Kings will compete for the 7th/8th seed. The..
Kings were in the playoff conversation during the 18/19 season and had one of the best late seasons records in the NBA before the 19/20 was stopped. Turns out the end of last season was more predictive than the beginning. Look for the Kings to be the big surprise next season.
4. McNair is more Morey than Hinkie. Not a single move the Kings have made since McNair was hired indicates anything other than a commitment to winning. You don't bring in Gentry and Kalamian to tank. You don't hire Mark Jones to call games for a team asked to "trust the process"
5. Identity and Pace. The Kings are going to be fast and fun to watch. Expect a team that puts a premium on fast, athletic players who can shoot at a decent clip. They will be slower than 18/19, but still fast and significantly better defensively. Also, 2nd until will have the...
same identity as 1st unit. That is why Lewis and Maxey make a ton of sense for the upcoming draft. It also means that half court players like CoJo are likely to get traded.

6. Bogdanovic is rested. Since coming to Sac, Bogie has played a ton of international basketball. This ...
will be the long, meaningful rest he will have had since joining the team. The time off is likely to allow Bogie to have his best ever NBA season.

7. Coaching staff is significantly improved. While many King fans are unhappy Walton is still the coach, there is no taking away ...
that Gentry and Kalamian are better than their respective predecessors. Either could be an NBA head coach for another team this season. Gentry on offense and Kalamian on defense. No longer will CoJo be guarding Adebayo on a game ending play. And if Gentry can't get along with ...
a player then you know it's not a coaching issue.

8. Lots of Trades. Almost all of the GMs that have come from the Morey tree are very active. I expect the same from McNair, particularly since the roster needs to be reworked to have both units play with pace. Maybe its big ...
trades involving Buddy or Bogi, or smaller trades involving Holmes, CoJo, Bjelly or Parker. Expect McNair to be active and Kings twitter to have lots to talk about.

9. Harry will likely be a King. The Kings can pay Harry nearly 4 mil per year. Hollinger and Marks have Harry's..
salary at 2.6 mil or less per year. Yes, the Kings will overpay to keep Harry (likely near 4 mil.), but no other team than the Kings can offer Harry money, playing time (particularly if Holmes is traded) and ability to pay him if he takes off. Plus, Harry and Sac have mutual love
10. Kings Basketball is Back. Over the next 5 weeks, McNair will draft and sign free agents, probably execute 1 or more trades, see the Kings open training camp, play preseason and regular season games. We get clarity on the vision and future of the Kings rather than speculation.
