why #暁のヨナ is one of the greatest shoujo manga of all time; a thread
first, the plot! unlike your typical shoujo series, the plot of #暁のヨナ has PLENTY of depth and is so unpredictable! lots of adventure, a good amount of romance, and a pinch of fantasy and comedy
amazing character development! for example, yona starts off as an ignorant and spoiled princess, but, after losing everything, she works hard to become strong enough to protect those dear to her #AkatsukiNoYona
throughout the series, yona takes on a variety of roles from warrior to bandit to even endangering her life by allowing herself to be taken captive #暁のヨナ
there’s also hak’s character development!! he’s originally debuted as yona’s strong & independent bodyguard (as well as he’s the incredibly good looking chief of the wind tribe

as the series continues, hak learns that even though he desires to protect those he cares about, he can’t do it alone and he must rely on his comrades #暁のヨナ
though he especially hates the idea of yona being in danger, he teaches her how to shoot with a bow and fight with a sword so she can become strong too #AkatsukiNoYona
next there’s yoon! he doesn’t have powers like the dragons or incredible strength like hak, and at times he hates himself for this, but he makes up for it with his medical knowledge, saving everyone’s lives countless times #暁のヨナ
he’s seen a lot for a 15 y/o 
but his vast knowledge, wisdom, & humor benefit the group greatly. i liken him to shikamaru from naruto. yoon is everyone’s fav genius pretty boy #AkatsukiNoYona

next, the dragons! everything about the 4 dragons will touch your heart. their backstories, their brotherhood, their desire to protect each other, hak, yoon, and yona… it’s impossible not to love them #暁のヨナ
the last character i’ll detail is soo-won! if you only watch the anime, you won’t get to learn much about him. despite being the apparent antagonist, it is very difficult to dislike him, and if you read the manga you’ll understand why (psst! read the manga!!) #AkatsukiNoYona
next, the art style!! look at the first opening! simple and elegant yet powerful. need i say more??? #暁のヨナ
ok aside from the absolute MASTERPIECE that is the first op, the animation the show is stunning. just look! #暁のヨナ

you WILL feel all sorts of different emotions with this series. despite some having powers, ultimately everyone is human meaning sometimes characters will suffer and people die. it’s not the type of story where the hero miraculously saves everyone without fail #暁のヨナ
in summary, if you like series with love, betrayal, adventure, vengeance, war, and pain, WATCH #YonaOfTheDawn (available on crunchyroll & hulu) and READ THE MANGA!!! you won’t regret it!!
