After having given it some thought and having talked to a lot of people about it, I will be starting to report on roster moves for the remaining off-season and beyond, though only for done deals. While I still believe my stance had and continues to have merit, (cont.)
the recent influx of unchecked leaks forced for me to re-evaluate. I've come to believe that the most effectively altruistic approach is to have high standards for evidence, which is why my volume won't be high. I don't plan to miss, but it's inherently impossible to avoid.
I will do my best to use the value this generates for me. I recognised that roster reports have become a tool to gain credibility and authority, and though I don't believe these aspects should matter, I recognise that they do for our audience. It's hard to know who to trust.
The vast majority of my work is information aggregation from professionals inside the league who want to share an idea or issue off-record. It has been my MO to vet these ideas with the help of other professionals, reframe them, and give them a platform.
For example over the spring and summer, I saw that my platform didn't facilitate bringing issues like 1-week hero pool induced burnout to the forefront and effected parties only felt save to share on spaced out occasions. I believe this caused more harm than necessary.
For transparency: A lot of the issues we faced this season were seen by people I talk to from a mile away. This season has felt like a nightmare, swinging for the issues but having no force behind the punch. It frankly sucked and I feel guilt for not having been a better courier.
I also recognise that my conduct on social platforms and perhaps on Tactical Crouch has not been one to help further the credibility of my work and I will amend accordingly. I will focus on the crucial hills to die on, though mostly in my work output.
This of course won't alter agreements made prior to this thread. I believe in journalism that provides checks and balances to an ecosystem and I hope that this decision allows me to have sustainability in that endeavour while taking some from system.
I've also thought about tightening my editorial profile like cutting the satire pieces like the scrimbux stock exchange as I understand getting your reports from the same dude that writes that jibberish is weird. For now, those will remain and I will continue to monitor.
I understand that I have argued this point with great fervour and I'm open to discuss this change of direction with anyone wanting to have a good-faith discussion. Just hit my DMs.
