As #COVID19 cases rise, I see a lot of discussion about #quaranteams or #socialbubbles, and what kind of socializing is safe. I think of social bubbles in terms of birth control - there's a HUGE difference in effectiveness between "perfect use" and "typical use".
"Perfect" use of condoms is 98% effective at preventing pregnancy. This means using a condom correctly EVERY time you have sex. Unfortunately, to err is human. The condom breaks, falls off, or isn't the right size. Typical use effectiveness? Only 87%.

I keep referring back to this diagram about the bubble you think you have vs. the bubble you do have. Even the best of social bubbles are leaky. And do you really want to use a condom with holes in it?
