Idk it's just interesting that some folks will see trans mascs talking about their experiences wrt negative stereotyping and people will literally be like "omg ur dogwhistling against trans women" like what the actual hell
People assume that we mean the ones doing the stereotyping are just "trans women calling out trans male privilege" or some shit and like... that's just so painfully detached from my real experience where most trans women don't seem to argue that bs
The way that's the default assumption... y'all have some really bizarre "battle of the sexes" binaristic views of how trans people interact with each other
I just saw a really gross interaction in which trans mascs were literally being framed as more oppressive than literal cis men and I wanted to vent about it, but I literally can't do that without the thought that some asshole would just stereotype me an a misogynistic aggressor
It's like "trans men get treated badly" and y'all immediately go "you must be talking about trans women calling out transmisogyny" & the only way that assumption makes sense to me is if you assume that trans men don't face real oppression as trans people
Like if we talk about oppression it must be because we've misunderstood a more "legitimate" hatred against us and are doing some "not all men" thing

Cause the idea we experience actual gendered oppression while being men is unacceptable and unbelievable
It's literally just giving y'all cognitive dissonance

Because the cisheteropatriarchy tells you that men can't be oppressed, that we are strong and tough all the time and in charge

& when that's not the case you can't process it & problematize us in order to cope 🙄
It's easier to imagine that we're all a bunch of testosterone fueled monsters just overflowing with chemically induced misogyny and hatred (in this case randomly pitting us against trans women) than view us as vulnerable, marginalized people deserving of care and protection
Long ass thread but I'm done now lol
