Here’s a bit of Sunday night controversy I’ve been doing sums &me and my little publisher make less from sales from the new hyped .org rival online bookshop than from Am*z*n or any high st bookshop It’s maybe not the cure all people hoped for. Buy direct from your local bookshop
Meanwhile I can’t keep up with orders for The Lightbringers so I’ve brought a pile in to the house to wrap while watching telly. Thanks so much!
The bookshops make less too. My book is discounted on there even though it is new. I have no say in this. I am all for supporting indies and local bookshops but there is something not quite right about this new US owned thing. Just expressing caution as people are recommending...
People buy my books from them rather than a specific bookshop. Use it to find your local bookshop but then buy direct from them. Then they get more money and so do my publishers and me. Not all publishers are huge money making machines, some are tiny and support small like me.
They seem to be there to rival am*zon rather than to support bookshops. Seems too good to be true and someone loses out with these things. I’m trying to see who loses and so far it’s me and my publishers and possibly my local bookshop too. So buy direct from your local bookshop
I know this may be unpopular when we are all being told to shout from the rooftops about it but I feel uneasy so I am saying something. They won’t let me delete my account either. Now, back to packing orders
