Disruption to this limestone can reduce the water available to communities, and also increase flooding risk in the area. Double whammy.

More than that, mining and quarrying produces unhealthy conditions for residents. Would you want to be living in perpetual dust and noise?
If the government can produce a cost benefit analysis to justify the economic value of the development, other than the 50-100 jobs outlined, and weigh it against the cost of the environmental losses and quality of life considerations, that is welcome.
