It occured to me that the wood for Pinocchio's growing nose has to come from within his own body, since it can't come out of nowhere, and I went down a rabbit hole calculating how many lies he could tell before he was all nose, and how long the nose would be.
Assume he's made from pine (density 400 kg/m²), weighs 5 kilos, his nose starts as a cylinder 2 cm in diameter and 2 cm long, and grows 2 cm every time he lies. Also, his voice is magic, so he doesn't need a mouth to lie.
Pinocchio could lie 1987.5 times, and would wind up as a nose 39.77 meters long, after which time there'd be no wood left.
So, what happens if he lies one more time? CAN he lie if his nose can't grow anymore? Is he cursed to tell only the truth, then? Or would a rift in spacetime destroy reality?
