okay so mmith is a song about a dying or struggling relationship between two people. harry is in pain, asking for help or a way to repair what is broken.

connecting all of this is the i know places staging on tour
the ikp set included a series of doors on stage, highly reminiscent of a hotel hallway, with taylor and her dancers moving in and around them sneakily.
with haylor frequently meeting in hotels and harry urging for his lover to meet him in the hallway on hs1, the obvious connection between the two songs is there.
taylor’s choice for their frequent rendezvous was hotels as the tour stage depicts and harry also used that common theme in their relationship in his writing
as for each song’s lyrical content, they are clearly about two different points of the relationship. ikp could be the beginning excitement of the love, hiding from the world and falling for each other in secret
while mmith is apart of the fall-out, once the adrenaline wears off and the actual flaws of the relationship shine through, in this case it being speculated taylor and harry struggled with miscommunication as mmith hints
“we don’t talk about it, it’s something we don’t do”
additional parallel!! knowing all of this, it can then be speculated that taylor is also the subject of only angel...with the song’s lyrical reference to mmith
“and we’re meeting in the hallway every single time”
