i keep finding antireligion stuff in atheist circles, so I just wanna remind some of you, as a former anti-theist person myself:
your anger at religion should actually be directed towards Christianity/Catholicism, not religion as a whole.

please stop advocating for religious abolition. y'all have no clue what that would mean for a lot of different cultures like, and not limited to, Judaism. there would be no way to abolish their religions without genocide.
and listen, I went to a Christian HS, and they bashed that shit onto me so much that I began resenting religion too. they taught me that Christianity was the "main" religion, and they never taught me what other religions look like, so my teenage brain assumed they're all the same
please understand that not every religion is as hateful and manipulative and colonial as Christianity can be. don't buy into the Christian propaganda of believing they're all the same.
I'm now a religious person, I'm Wiccan/a witch, my deity is the Earth. I worship her and do my best to do what's best for her (to me that's being environmentally conscious, boycotting and protesting gas companies/the main contributers to pollution, etc).
this is what religion looks like to me. if you seriously believe my religion needs to be abolished alongside genuinely awful practices, then you're just blind with anger/trauma. you have my deepest sympathies, but you have no right to put this trauma onto others.
abolish colonialism, abolish genocide, religious discrimination, abolish "missionaries", abolish white supremacy, abolish "religious superiority", abolish religious abuse.
