Family One:

After we sent them the intake questions they responded with a bit more about their need for help. Here is their story.

"I talked to Meryl and she said we should tell our story so here it is. We both had wonderful jobs & we both were working full time until covid...

...after covid hit Calgary, we both got laid off & within weeks both of the places we worked full time at shut down completely & sent out a email saying that they would not be reopening. So immediately we set off to look for a new job even trying to get daily cash jobs but no go.

...we were able to survive on our savings until last month. We even cashed in all our RRSP's & other savings bonds but that will only last if we stretch things out until the end of december or possibly january...

...That's why we need help. My husband & I dont care about ourselves we just would like some help for our children. They do not know how hard things are as we are hiding it from them cause they dont need the stress. Especially since they have so much stress already with school...

If you can help us out we would love that & as I am writing this with tears in my eyes I have no words that would describe how I feel if we were able to get your organizations help. You do great work & Ive seen you on TV & helping so many others. TY for considering us as a hamper

Family Two:

** #Dad is scared to ask for #Help because he fears it will work against him in #Court & he is scared he might lose his girls he has full custody of if he has to ask for help from the #food bank & #ABWorks**

Everyone, we have a family that lives here in the #CityofCalgary #yyc that is scared to ask for #Help because we have a #Father who is afraid to approach anyone for #Help for fear of losing his children and for fear of being look at as a failure in the eyes of the Calgary Court.

Can we help with these requests? We have so many more (See below) normally we would be able to fill these requests but we are in great need of Donations that we sometimes have a waiting period of as long as two weeks until we are able to deliver or assist them with their requests

We have gotten requests from staff that are working at places where there are currently outbreaks, From teachers who are on isolation. From nurses who have seen their shifts cut in half (Just so they can keep as many people working as possible)...

We have gotten requests from people who work at grocery stores, malls, daycares, & many other places on the front lines...from people that have been laid off & are scared for their families, scared for their friends and co-workers. So many #Calgarians in need it is truly ALARMING

That is why we try to help as many people, families, & seniors as possible. We have many requests that are currently waiting to be filled.
