Twitter fam--I keep hearing concerns about "imposter syndrome" from emerging scholars and educators. Can we talk about how imposter syndrome is a white supremacist discourse intended to undermine our brilliance, seed self-doubt, and obstruct change? Let's make this a thread.
Of course we need to keep reading deeply and widely, learning from others, improving our knowledge bases and craft. That's not what this is about. This is about a discourse that tears us apart from within and makes us feel less than because there is some unattainable benchmark.
Calling everyone into this--tagging folks whose accounts pop up quickly, but can't tag everyone I want to. Please tag others and chime in! @DrSubini @ @mildredboveda @biancajontae @EricaOTurner1 @LinnPoseyMaddox @DrErikaBullock @sepehrvakil @meganbang3 @susanjurow @Ebonyteach
