Really disheartened by the sheer number of cable news anchors who don't understand Black Lives Matter isn't a slogan, it's a representation of actual human lives lost to police murder, actual families devastated by systemic racism, actual Americans facing actual problems.
Cable news has always treated the slogan as the story--just think back to that breathless coverage of the phrase "Defund the Police"

So much time spent deconstructing the phrase that no one asked about the core issues that brought that issue to the forefront.
So when folks in the press or the Democratic Party say we need to stop with the "police talk" because it's alienating @GOP voters, what they're saying is that we need to stop discussing the violence facing Black Americans because the people perpetrating that violence are upset.
The issues that fuel #BLM and the policing reform movement don't go away if media and national parties ignore them. They just fester. The names we recite in 2020 are the result of decades of unwillingness to acknowledge or address the issues of police racism and violence.
And to be honest it strains credibility to claim the folks who proudly march with "White Lives Matter" and "Jews Will Not Replace Us" chants would somehow be open to discussing meaningful policing reform if only Democrats used more euphemisms.
