Great example to apply @ContraPoints Cancelling tropes Trope 1: Presumption of guilt. @Kauthar_ is guilty because she used to be a member of an organization that once had possible loose ties with another organization who was founded by Muslim Brotherhood. https://twitter.com/vanveeelen/status/1327664712209862657
Trope 2 Abstraction. Her being a part of this organization means she supports everything this organization was and is and will be which means she supports Muslim Brotherhood which means she supports terrorism. (Because Muslim Brotherhood is and was only terrorism)
Trope 3 Essentialism. @Kauthar_
supports Muslim Brotherhood therefore she is a supporter of terrorism therefore she is an Islamic extremist and is dangerous and a threat to democracy.
Trope 4. Pseudo Moralism
People like @vanveeelen come out of the works acting all morally disturbed because of a loose connection with a far away immoral group and demand that the political party turn their backs from (cancel her)
Trope 5: No forgiveness
@Kauthar_ is forced to say that she doesn't support Muslim Brotherhood and isn't an extremist even though there's no indication in her work or words that she is. Unfortunately it's too late because people already start believing that frame.
Trope 6: The transitive property of cancelation If @Kauthar_ is a supporter of Islamic extremism that must mean that @groenlinks and @jesseklaver are also supporters. Which leads to @vanveeelen saying that he cannot support them anymore.
Trope 7 Dualism: If @groenlinks has put @Kauthar_ on the list that means they put an islamic terrorist on the list. Which means that not only is she bad and evil but the whole party is bad and evil and therefore hates the Netherlands.
It's clear that none of the actual facts underlying this witchhunt is true and it isn't surprising that people on the right-wing double down on that. But all these centrists and left-wing people doing it is just disgusting. Keep up the good work @Kauthar_ we see you and honor you
