Mail vote 101. The outer envelope is signed. Ever wonder why? The answer is simple. The machine that scans them is the same as every check processing machine in the world. Do they often fail? Does money randomly go missing from check fraud? No.
Mail vote 102. The envelope is then opened. The page count is verified, the page security marks are checked. Photocopies, extra pages etc are rejected.
Mail vote 103, the valid votes are read by OCR. Each oval is either plain paper or it is marked. A cutoff point for a valid/ invalid mark is applied. The vote is recorded.
Mail vote 104. Without internet connections/ software updates the process is bulletproof. The safest voting process out there.
Mail vote 105. Democrats have proposed several election security bills to restrict or ban connections or updates during election seasons. All have been blocked by Republicans.
