The assassin has been planning this for months, it would be so silly to leave traces & hints by mistake. Heâs a professional, so he mightâve different plans and I think that, if he really left traces, he probably did it on purpose and wants Seungho to follow him!

Since he knew that Seungho & Nakyum were at the doctorâs office and that Jihwa was at the tavern, it seems that he was actually keeping an eye out of the main coupleâs movements, so to really make such a big mistake despite working on it for so long, wouldnât make sense.
I think he had it all planned and organized, heâs smart. He told JW to stay out of the plan but, seeing how anxious JW was, it was natural for him to step in anyway and he knew it, so he anticipated JWâs mistake and used it in his favor (âYou played a key roleâ).
Now, it looks like heâs trying to make an emotional impact on Jihwa by making him realize the severity of a murder, and that the only one responsible for the painterâs death would be him (âThe choice is yours, my lordâ), but I think he was doing it from the beginning.
Because he could sense Jihwaâs weak emotional capacity from the moment he went to hire him. If we follow the order of their interactions, the scenes always focus on the assassinâs perspective of Jihwa biting his fingers, Jihwa hesitating. He saw gradually Jihwaâs mental breakdown
So he tested his will from the start.
And I think back then he told Jihwa to stay home on purpose: he knew JW was anxious, so staying home without receiving news about the plan was going to make him think deeply about it & increase his regret. He purposely put him on that state
And I think back then he told Jihwa to stay home on purpose: he knew JW was anxious, so staying home without receiving news about the plan was going to make him think deeply about it & increase his regret. He purposely put him on that state
Because he knew from the very beginning that the murder wasnât going to take place âcause Jihwa wasnât going to withstand the guilt. Since heâs an assassin for hire, he probably has been hired before, so he knows already how to recognize if a client is determined or mistaken.
Jihwa might seem prideful, but he canât hide how broken and miserable he feels inside from holding onto unrequited love for so many years. And deep down he knew and knows that Nakyum is important to Seungho bc in his dream he imagined SH looking devastated from seeing Nakyum dead
So now thereâs a possibility that the assassin left traces purposely. Maybe to make SH follow him and personally confront Jihwa, âcause that way Jihwa would see SH standing up for NK and heâd realize that murder wonât give him SHâs love, then his grief would end = Redemption arc
But there are lots of possibilities. Also if SH doesnât go to look for NK, Minâs attempt to taste NK could happen if he steps in because he would even if JW doesnât let him. But if he goes, there could be a fight. Though letâs stay positive, just 2 more weeks of waiting to know
